Note: This is clearly the actual title, but they obviously thought that “faun” wasn’t a regular English word, so went with Pan’s Labyrinth instead. This sort of bullshit cop-out is, unfortunately, pretty emblematic of the story as a whole. Dear makers of film: I’m about done with movies where there’s a secret fantasy world … or is there? No more playing coy, no more letting your viewers off the hook by letting them choose not to accept the fantasy world as a real thing and just symbolic/allegoric whatever. Fuck that shit. If you’re making a fantasy movie, commit to that, and make it an unambiguously fantastical movie. Also, try to make it not be dull and pointless. That would help, too!
