Jesus Camp
There are two parts to this movie:
-
The part focusing on the kids at the titular camp. This part is fairly effective, if rather creepy. It borders on parody and mockery, but I’m sure the Jesus Camp people would watch it themselves and think it a fair accounting of matters, so yeah. Basically if you watch this part of the movie, you’ll be ready to sign up for the “I SPIT AT YOUR NOMAD DESERT GOD” religion.
-
Filming some Air America guy on talk radio, who comes across as stupid and unlikeable and irritating, and makes you want to sign up for the “atheists are giant assholes” religion.
Overall, uneven movie, and it only gets shallowly at what it’s trying to get at, and by and large you can skip it, unless you need persuasion that Evangelicals can be weird and talk radio guys are assholes.
