Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
So Netflix kept recommending this to me as a classic movie. I have ZERO interest in Westerns, so was all whatever, but, well, it is a William Goldman (of The Princess Bride fame) screenplay and highly thought of. And it does star both Robert Redford and Paul Newman. So, what the hell.
Anyway, it’s good. It’s well-written, witty, actiony, and well-played. If you’re completely allergic to Western trappings — say, if you can’t handle Firefly because trains and horses and guns bother you too much — then a Western-aversion is a good reason to avoid it. Otherwise, go rent it, because it’s fun.
