So people said this movie was horrible, but I think it depends on what you were expecting. Because if what you were expecting was a cinematic retelling of Wolverine’s origin story, as told in that one graphic novel whose name I forget, then hey, here you are. Very origin story-y!

The problem, of course, is that Wolverine’s origin story is one that necessarily involves him losing his memory and forgetting everything, due to the part where his entire origin story is a massive retcon, so it’s probably unsatisfying as a movie taken on its own terms. So if you just are watching this movie as a movie, yeah, that’s not going to really cut it; but if you’re watching this movie knowing that it’s Wolverine’s retconned origin story, then it’s what you’d expect, and a solid rendition thereof.

Recommended only to people who don’t need me to recommend it to them.
