1. Holy fuck, was that a long-ass movie. THREE HOURS! I feel like an hour or more could have been edited out with no real loss, you know? Like, enjoyable enough, but very rambly and loose.

  2. It’s a very strange combination of totes silly and really serious, too. Like, I get that it’s a classic, and that’s how it is, but if it were released today, I suspect critics would not be kind. We are a subtler people today, or a way more bombastic one, depending. More polarized, anyway? Possibly. Anyway, I think mostly I just don’t like westerns, and this was a western, so hey. But it was okay enough.
