Date Night
So Tina Fey and Steve Carell are in a basically fine but increasingly loveless marriage, exhausted by the twin demands of work and kids, and with the passion of their marriage sapped by the mundane commonplaces of daily life. And then their friends turn out to be getting a divorce, which prompts them to re-examine their own marriage with a critical eye.
And then, THANKFULLY, hijinks ensue and the thing turns into a zany thrillery sort of thing. Only, of course, there’s nothing to be thankful for in that, because that kind of movie actually sucks, and the movie doesn’t overcome its genre whatsoever, with insipid dialogue and silly broad comedy, so is pretty horrid from there on out. Not really recommended, even if you like Fey and/or Carell.
