Moneyball
So you might ask yourself: How could you make an interesting movie about baseball, of all things? The answer turns out to be: 1) Hire Sorkin to write it, and 2) have him do that Social Network thing where it’s about business dealings and the guys in the back rooms, not about the tedious game or boring players or whatever.
Also, I have to think this movie would be substantially less interesting to someone who actually followed baseball, given that they would know exactly how everything turns out, and therefore find zero suspense in all its “will they win the game?!?!?!” moments. But if you don’t like baseball, it’s an enjoyable enough movie — I’d say that your reaction to The Social Network will pretty much give you your reaction to this movie.
