The easy thing to say is that this is the American version of The World’s End, but in fact it’s more like the American version of Shaun of the Dead in that:

  1. It’s about a pair of friends, one of whom is kind of holding the other back.
  2. It’s about them being all friends ‘n’ shit, until the apocalypse happens.

I really didn’t expect to like this movie that much, but the tldr is IT WAS FUCKING HILARIOUS.

Seriously, almost every scene was way funnier than it had any right to be. Seth Rogen, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, Emma Watson, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Jason Segel, Rihanna, and Channing Tatum were all brilliant.

I don’t know, I want to say that if this sort of movie sounds stupid and dumb to you it will be, but it sounded stupid and dumb to me, but it was 100% awesomepants. Have a drink or two at least before you watch it? But if that list of celebrities holds even vague appeal to you, totally watch this.
