So I know I’ve seen this movie, but fuck if I remembered it like at all other than knowing two main plot points. Verdict in the end: It’s a perfectly fine episode of a show that is like a more actiony version of Star Trek.

Also, I was weirdly unmoved by the famous death scene. Like, I am a sucker for tearing up at death scenes and/or farewells, but for some reason this one just didn’t work at all. Maybe because I knew it wasn’t real (and I was also surprised that all the cheap sequel-bait stuff was right in this movie; I thought that was a later invention when Leonard Nimoy changed his mind about wanting to be done with Trek).
