So, okay, this is a fine movie and all, but why is it hailed as such a classic? Honestly, it’s pretty slight. The plot is minimal, the characters are sketchy, the pace is slow, and the depth is thin. Mildly enjoyable light fluff, but not deserving of its reputation.

Also, I realized about halfway through that the episode of the Simpsons where Bart breaks his leg and thinks Flanders killed Maude? Yeah, probably an homage. Huh.
