So if you didn’t know better, this would look like one of the random softcore movies that are all over Netflix, but in fact it’s a Lars von Trier arthouse movie. Or rather, half of one, as it literally just stops in the middle, like one of those Hobbit movies.

The framing story is that some old Skarsgård finds a woman apparently hurt in an alleyway, and then over tea she tells him stories from her life, intended to illustrate how she is a terrible person, said stories being themed around infodump lectures that old Skarsgård provides on e.g., fly fishing or Bach.

It is an unusual movie, and I have no idea what it is building toward in its second half, so can’t really pass judgment on it yet.
