Verdict: That’s an action movie, all right! The aliens suffer a bit from ninja-itis, and Cameron is a total slave to action movie formula, such that you can see every beat coming for a mile before it gets there, and I think on the whole it’s not nearly so well-done as Alien (the first one). But it’s an action movie that we watched in a single sitting, which is semi-rare for me, so I guess put this up there with like James Cameron’s Avatar in terms of technically proficient and reasonably decent movies that are fine if not spectacular.

ALSO, now that I have seen this one, I can 100% see why people who saw it before Alien3 were so pissed at Alien3 in a way that I wasn’t.
