So I wanted to watch an Iranian film, on the basis of I’ve never seen one, and Hulu obligingly offered up either this, or some weird meta-fictional quasi-documentary about a news story from 25 years ago that is supposed to be all deceptive and confusing. I picked this.

It’s a very slow movie, and also fairly minimalist - not a lot happens, there’s not even a lot of conversation, we end up knowing little about the main character — and for me at least, it falls very firmly into the category of movies that are interesting enough to have watched, because of how I haven’t watched anything quite like them, but which don’t really evoke any particularly strong feelings from me.

I’d say: worth watching, but only if you are very firmly wanting to watch that kind of movie.

(Also, there’s a bit at the end, that’s apparently part of the movie for some reason, but which I am going to treat as basically just part of the credits, because it’s silly and stupid otherwise.)
