So the weird thing about the ’80s and their action movies is: As iconic as they are, they didn’t really seem to know how to make action movies. Like, these days, we know how to make action movies: You put your foot on the gas, and you don’t let up except for the occasional quip.

But in the ’80s, they were like, “let’s pace out every action moment very carefully with like 20 minutes of filler, because we don’t want audiences to get too excited. Keep it low, keep it calm.”

So, Predator: Arnold and bros fight an alien. It takes them forever to start, and they do it really stupidly — it seems extremely beatable and not that badass, but they decide to all go off and fight it one at a time while the others stand back, like how guards in Assassin’s Creed fight you, and surprise, this turns out not to be a great strategy and most of them die.

But hey, I stayed awake through most of the movie, so it’s not like it’s that boring.
