There are two ways to look at this movie. One is as a romantic movie, as which it’s kinda lame, hampered by the lameness of either Ethan Hawke or Ethan Hawke’s character. The other is as a character study, as which it’s very good, as Ethan Hawke’s character is well-drawn and realistic, as is Julie Delpy’s.

I’m kinda curious to see the sequel, now.
