So an acquaintance derided this as a well-acted “slice of life” movie. Which is, I guess, basically true, but still: It was good. You have to not mind schlubby semi-anti-heroes, though.

Relatedly: We had a New Zealand pinot noir while watching the movie, which is semi-amusing, given the pinot noir thing the main character has. But also, the WSJ people said that New Zealand pinot noir was going to be the next big thing, and I think every bottle of New Zealand pinot noir I’ve had has been damn fine. Between that and their domination of sauvignon blanc, New Zealand’s really kind of great.
