Kill Bill v.2 — Excellent. The first movie was damn fine, and this was better. The characters are deeper, the emotions more intense, and the pace slower. More importantly, it’s got style, which is exceedingly rare in major motion pictures.
Lost in Translation — It’s enjoyable. Not worth all the hypey reviews it got, but enjoyable. Pretend you never read anything good about it, and you’ll say afterward, “That was an enjoyable movie”; acknowledge that you read all those raves, and you’ll say afterward, “That’s it? Really?”
Master and Commander — Surprisingly good. I thought this would be on the dull side, but it wasn’t. Fast-paced without being relentlessly action-packed; more atmospheric and authentic than I would’ve expected; and just basically very well done.
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory — Oompa loompa doompity do!
