So Jess put this movie on because there’s a We Hate Movies live-watch podcast thing with it, and I watched it (without the podcast in my earholes), and… yep, this remains a terrible movie.

At the beginning, I was thinking that maybe it was better than I thought, because it sort of sets up this series of puzzles: What’s going on with the radio waves? Oh, it’s ships, what’s going on with the ships? Oh, they’re attacking us, well how the hell are we going to fight back?

But then from the instant they get to Area 51, it falls into first, this morass of logistical bullshittery that nobody could possibly care about; and second, a series of preposterous and silly action scenes that suck as action scenes.

There are good actors here, and the beginning isn’t total garbage, but this is not a good movie. Not recommended.
